Basic salad with a mindblowing dressing!



Trying to go healthy? This has got to be the MOST delicious option for you.


The salad before adding the dressing and mayonnaise

Made with easily available ingredients. So lets go!




                                 
All you need is (makes about 4 helpings) :   
A handful of lettuce 
2 tomatoes  
2 onions  
1 capsicum (green peppers)  
Mayonnaise 


For the dressing:   
4 tbsp Olive Oil  
5 tbsp Lemon juice 
1-2 tbsp Vinegar  
2 tbsp Honey 
1/2 tsp ground Black Pepper 
Salt to taste 
1 tsp Mustard 
2 pinches dried Oregano 
A pinch of dried Basil  
4-5 cloves of finely chopped Garlic


Method: 
1. In a small bowl, whisk together all the dressing ingredients. Tweak quantities as per your taste. Let the dressing stand, covered, at room temperature. 
2. Tear up the lettuce in a salad bowl. Add chopped tomatoes, onions and capsicum. 
3. Pour in required amount of dressing and mayonnaise right before serving the salad! 
4. Slurp!

Tips:
- Tear up the lettuce with your hands rather than using a knife.
- You can skip 1 or 2 ingredients if they aren't as per your taste or convenience.
- Feel free to  throw in some corn, olives, roasted chicken or even some roasted peanuts! This dressing is called versatile for a reason :)
- Tastes scrumptious with garlic bread or even plain buttered toast!
